Disney's Yacht Club Resort
We recently enjoyed a long weekend at the Yacht Club resort in April. It was my first stay at this property and I was blown away!
The Yacht club is a beautiful deluxe resort on Disney property. It is styled after a New England Yacht club. It is located directly next to the Beach club resort and the two properties share an amazing pool called Stormalong Bay. It is a short walk to Epcot and the International Gateway entrance, and a short boat ride to Hollywood studios. It is also a quick walk around the lake or short boat ride to Disney’s Boardwalk where there are numerous quick service and table service options, as well as a bakery and nightly entertainment. This is a resort you will love to stay at!
Food options at the Boardwalk/Beach Club/Yacht Club are:
*Trattoria al Fiorno
*Beaches and Cream Soda Shop
*Big River Grill and Brewing Works
* ESPN club
*Cape May Cafe
*Beach Club Marketplace
*Hurricane Hanna's Waterside Bar and Grill
*Boardwalk Funnel Cakes
*Ample Hills Creamery
* Boardwalk Pizza Window
*The Market at Ale and Compass
The pool, Stormalong Bay is phenomenal. It is the perfect pool to provide a rest day from your vacation, or to enjoy down time when the parks are too hot during the summer. Your kids will love it!
Stormalong Bay is so popular, to keep those not staying on property from using the pool you must have a wristband to access them. With over 3 acres of pool area there is plenty of room for fun! There are several zero entry points and the entire pool has a sandy bottom. It has two very big ship wreck themed slides that were so fun, even I had to participate in the fun! The smaller of the two is perfect for younger children.
It has a lazy river, a shallow area with extra sand for sandcastle building and is zero entry due to the sand.
There are also numerous hot tubs and two whirlpool areas. On the pool deck there is plenty of seating, from tables to full reclining pool chairs.
You can even rent a cabana for a half day or a full day for an additional cost. Reservations are recommended for this and can be made at 407-WDW-PLAY.
The cabana includes a dedicated cast member to provide these services:
*Padded furniture, including chairs and couch
*Television with cable access
*Mini refrigerator stocked with complimentary sodas and water
*Fruit basket (may not be available without advance reservation)
*Complimentary sunscreen/ skincare products
With all the seating options you will easily find a pool chair.
On top of all the fun you can have while in the pool, Disney also has cast members who will play games with the kids and organize activities throughout the afternoon. If you are looking for a quieter pool then take advantage of the 3 leisure pools on property.
Hurricane Hanna’s, and Beaches and Cream are there to satisfy your cravings should you work up an appetite with all the swimming you will do, or should you crave something to quench your thirst.
My girls enjoyed daily double scoop ice cream cones (as a snack on the dining plan) from Beaches and Cream and we enjoyed some delicious burgers and adult beverages from Hurricane Hanna's
There are endless amounts of activities available to you on the Yacht Club property. There is an arcade, jogging paths, gym, a sandy volleyball court, tennis courts, resort campfires, boat rentals, guided fishing, and movies under the stars just to name a few.
One of the newest offerings at Disney’s Yacht club is Captain Hook’s Pirate Crew. It is a new experience for kids age 4-12. They will be taught pirate skills, go on a treasure hunt, and enjoy a tasty dinner. It is the perfect chance for parents to have a “Date night” while their kids enjoy an adventure with Captain hook and his pirate crew. Cost is $55 plus tax and it is offered nightly from 5:00-8:30pm with drop off as early as 4:30 pm. Reservations are required and can be made at 407-824-KIDS.
I would rate this as one of my favorite resorts! What resort do you love on Disney property?
