Favorite Disney Value Resort
Updated: Sep 11, 2019
My favorite Disney value resort takes you back to your childhood with just the right touch of nostalgia.
Pop century is a value resort on Disney property. I personally have stayed here many times. It is the perfect resort if you plan on spending almost all your time in the parks, or you are looking for a cute clean budget resort!
It is styled as a resort that features the fads throughout the decades, with bright colors, and theming from the 1950’s-1990’s. There are 5 sections of the resort, the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s.
It was recently remodeled and I love the rooms, they have a crisp clean modern look. The rooms either have a King size bed, or a Queen size bed with a Murphy/table bed that is a Queen as well. It pulls down to a bed and is a table when it is folded up. The maximum number of guests in these rooms are 4. There are Standard rooms available or you can choose to upgrade to a Preferred room which will place you closest to transportation and dining. Another option is the Preferred pool view which will place you closest to transportation and dining with a view of the Hippy Dippy pool.
There is a large food court and Disney merchandise shop directly off of the lobby area. The food court has numerous quick service offerings for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and is also where you can refill your resort mug with coffee, sodas, or tea throughout your stay. There are seven food stations featuring foods such as waffles, pizza, cheese burgers, chicken strips, salad, pastas, and many more options to satisfy even the largest appetite.
There are three pools located at Pop Century. The largest pool is located near the 1960’s area and the lobby; it is the Hippy Dippy pool. It has flower shaped water jets and a kiddie pool area nearby for younger kids. There are two other pool on property, the bowling pin pool located near the 1950’s area, and the computer pool near the 1990’s section. Right beside the Hippy Dippy pool is the Petals Pool bar which features cocktails, beer and something that is sure to quench your thirst.
As for other recreation on property there is the fast-forward arcade next to the food court for your enjoyment. After a long day at the park you can kick back and relax on select nights for a Movie Under the Stars. You can check the schedule at the resort to see what movie is playing each night right next to the Hippy Dippy Pool. Also, if you enjoy a good run before your park day there is a one-mile jogging trail around the resort.
There are Disney buses located at the front of the resort near Classic Hall that pickup every 20 minutes or less, to take you to all of the parks and Disney Springs. Also beginning in fall of 2019, you will be able to take gondolas from Pop Century to Hollywood studios or Epcot. If you don’t want to wait on a bus you can always pay to have a Minnie Van take you anywhere on Disney Property.
This resort is a fantastic value with all the perks you have available to you on Disney property.
